As wireless mobile carriers are offering new user friendly data devices, more attractive data rate plans to customers and are planning to install newer higher data rate, higher capacity networks, the costs and technology challenges of backhauling this data back to the central office is looming large.
There are many factors which play into the choices and decisions the carriers must make - not the least of which is legacy equipment interoperability, reliability, quality of service, the move to IP Networks, and many more factors.
The goals of this workshop are to better understand the needs of the wireless mobile carriers with different legacies, in different geographical regions, and examine at a wide variety of solutions, such as in-house built solutions from the base station to the remote network controller (end-to-end), the role of managed or leased services including satellite services, the latest microwave and millimeter wave radio solutions and enabling technologies to meet the needs of the industry.
