mmWave PtMP Radio, MultiHaul™ now available in the UK
MultiHaul™ is a point-to-multipoint wireless system which integrates the advantages of millimeter wave radios, capacity and reliability, with beamforming technology enabling simple auto-align one-person installations.
Watch this interactive webinar and you’ll find out everything you need to know about the new possibilities the MultiHaul™ PtMP 60GHz offers.
MultiHaul™ UK Launch Webinar – Q&A:
Interference to MultiHaul™ is very unlikely due to the nature of the V-band spectrum (60GHz): high attenuation and short propagation. Further, MultiHaul™ is equipped with effectively pencil-thin narrow beams, and their directivity is another contributing factor to prevent interference from affecting the performance of the links.
The TU will limit the capacity available to this BU to a maximum of 1Gbps aggregated (assuming that capacity license is installed on the TU). The 1Gbps capacity is aggregated, and dynamically allocated between up- and downstream based on the current application(s) demand.
The TUs ship with a base rate of 100Mbps, and can be expanded in a single step to 1Gbps. These capacities (100Mbps or 1Gbps) are aggregated values, dynamically allocated between up- and downstream at any point in time, based on the current application(s) demand.
The BUs ship with a base rate of 500Mbps aggregated, and can be expanded in a single step to the full capacity of 1.8Gbps aggregated. These capacities (500Mbps or 1.8Gbps) are aggregated values, dynamically allocated between up- and downstream and across all the TUs at any point in time, based on the current application demand.
Yes, we include a mounting kit with each unit (BU or TU), which allows mounting on a pole or directly on a wall. This mounting kit supports elevation/tilt up/down to ±10°. In case additional elevation/tilt is needed, one can order separately the EH-MK-SM.
The current MultiHaul™ can be deployed in PtP today, with 1 BU and 1 TU. This configuration will offer up to 1Gbps of dynamically allocated aggregated bandwidth. This bandwidth (100Mbps or 1Gbps) is dynamically allocated between up- and downstream at any point in time, based on the current application demand.
We will announce higher capacities in the future.
Yes, MultiHaul™ supports adaptive modulation, to deliver the best performance and service experience at any point in time, taking into account parameters such as orientation, reach or rain intensity amongst a few.
The stated performance of MultiHaul™ in terms of reach or capacity is declared at the peak power allowed by the applicable regulations.
The current maximum number of TU supported by a BU is 8.
The PoE injectors which are included in the box (and price) of the BU or TU are sized for the power needs of the unit, inclusive the PoE-Out. Thus the injector included with the 3 ports TU (T200-CCC) is the same as the one for the BU (B100-CCS). However the PoE injector included with the 1 port TU (T200-CNN) has lower power rating, and will not support the BU or the 3 ports TU.
Yes, Siklu offers 2 levels of planning support:
- Link Budget Calculator (LBC) allows assessing the performance and range of a MultiHaul™ link in a chosen location.
SmartHaul™ Wireless Network Design Engine (WiNDE) is a SaaS solution to design a complete network in 5 steps, starting with import of locations, recommending optimal topologies, RF planning, Bill of Materials and more.
We have published a technical note on our Portal at this link. We will continue to update the note as we add more devices to the interoperability list.
Yes, MultiHaul™ supports AES 128 encryption. The units (BU or TU) ship out of factory with same encryption parameters (SSID & key). It is recommended to change the encryption parameters during the commissioning of the network.
MultiHaul™ supports a standard implementation, and authenticates with a Radius server.
